Will Civic Connect work on my website?
Yes—the hosted widget is designed for websites with an HTML or embed block. Try the builder preview now with colors, phone scripts, and sample Manhattan results. When publishing opens, connect your own 5 Calls API key, then sign up for $39/year for one website. Your embed code becomes available after successful payment. Add it through an HTML or embed block on Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, or a custom website that allows custom embeds.
Do I need my own 5 Calls API key?
Yes, for live lookups. The builder preview uses sample data and doesn't need a key. Request your own key by emailing hello@5calls.org, as explained in the 5 Calls documentation. For the website embed, you'll connect your key before checkout; it won't be included in the embed code you paste on your website.
What do I need to get started?
Nothing is needed to design a preview. When publishing opens, you'll need a website that allows embeds, your own 5 Calls API key, and an active $39/year subscription.
Which representatives can people find?
Civic Connect uses the 5 Calls representative API, which supports federal and state representatives. Results depend on the API's available data and the location entered.
What happens if my renewal fails?
When your paid period ends without a successful renewal, the widget stops working. Your saved settings remain, and confirmed payment restores access.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You'll be able to manage billing from your account. If you cancel, the widget stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Can I use it on more than one website?
Each widget subscription will cover one production website. Subscribe separately for another production website.
Can I try it before subscribing?
Yes. Try the builder free to customize your colors and scripts with sample results. A $39/year subscription will be required to publish the widget when paid publishing opens.
